Lake Akan is a hot spring area where visitors can experience traditional Ainu arts & culture. Once you’ve had your fill of strolling through the hot springs district and appreciating the stage shows, your next destination is Kawayu Onsen, where the scent of sulfur lingers in the air. On the nighttime tour you can look out at the star-filled night sky from Lake Mashu Observatory No.1, then the next morning it’s off to see Mt. Iou. After you’ve experienced two of Hokkaido’s most famous hot spring areas here, on the final day the tour wraps up with a trip to the port town of Abashiri facing the Sea of Okhotsk.
