Hakodate City Tram
Hop on Hakodate's symbolic trams, which run at a leisurely pace, and save money with a one-day pass.
Many of Hakodate's major tourist attractions are located along the Hakodate City Tram line, including Motomachi with its many churches, the Goryokaku district, and the Yunokawa hot spring district. The tram runs every 7 minutes between Yunokawa and Jujigai during the day, and every 14 minutes between Jujigai and Yachigashira or Hakodate Dotsukumae, making it the perfect way to explore the city without worrying about timetables. The trams are attracting attention as both people- and environment-friendly vehicles that do not emit exhaust fumes and can be boarded and disembarked at street level. The Hakodate Haikara-go Sable cookies, packaged in a Meiji-era tram-shaped box, are a popular souvenir.
