Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery

The distillery is said to be the sacred place of whiskey in Japan. Free tours and tastings.

Standing in front of JR Yoichi Station with its stone walls and red roof, the Nikka Whisky Hokkaido Factory Yoichi Distillery is the home of Japanese whiskey. The factory offers free guided tours every 30 minutes, where you can observe the production process while listening to detailed explanations. At the end of the one-hour tour, you can enjoy a free whiskey tasting. Juice and tea are also available, and there is a facility where you can enjoy the aroma of different ages, so drivers and non-whiskey drinkers can also enjoy the experience. The Whiskey Museum is also a must-see, with panels, exhibits, and videos showing the history of whiskey and the life of Nikka Whisky’s founder.
