Cape Ofuyu Observation Tower

Cape Ofuyu is one of the Three Secret Capes of Hokkaido. Until the national highway was opened in 1981, the only way to get there was by boat, making it a hidden place that was not easily accessible. Today, there is an observatory and a walking trail leading from the parking lot along the national highway. It takes about 15 minutes to climb up the steep stairs to the observatory, but the view from the hill is fantastic! With the vast Sea of Japan in front of you, dynamic cliffs along the coastline and a majestic mountain range at your back, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sea and mountains at the same time.
