Moerenuma Park

Sapporo's world-class art park. The park itself is a work of Isamu Noguchi.

An art park that changes along with the seasons, Moerenuma Park was designed by the world-renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi, who conceived the entire project as a single sculpture. It was planned as a base park for the Circular Green Belt Concept, which envelops the urban area of Sapporo with a belt of parks and green spaces. Construction began in 1982, with the grand opening in 2005. The park has a total of 15 beautifully arranged facilities, including Mt. Moere, which offers a panoramic view of Sapporo City, the Glass Pyramid, and the Sea Fountain, which can be considered a water sculpture.
