Noboribetsu Onsen

A wide variety of hot springs, jigoku-dani (hell valley), intermittent springs, and the smell of sulfur...this is the place to fully enjoy what a hot spring resort is all about.

Noboribetsu Onsen, where 10,000 tons of hot water with source temperatures ranging from 45 to 90 degrees Celsius gush out naturally every day, is a place where you will feel like you are in a hot spring as soon as you arrive. The smell of sulfur wafting through the air, the steamy Jigoku-dani (hell valley) within walking distance, and the geysers spouting hot water are all part of the dynamic environment. Noboribetsu Onsen has many different types of springs, and needless to say, the cloudy sulfur springs are especially popular and attract many visitors every year. The Oyu-numa River natural footbath is a natural footbath that can be enjoyed in winter as well, where the gushing hot water flows as a river of hot water. You can also enjoy the streets lined with restaurants and souvenir stores that sell souvenirs related to demons.
