Historical Buildings in Mashike
Travel back in time to the Meiji and Showa eras. Walk through the charming town of Masuge.
The area around Mashike Station, the terminus of the Rumoi Line, features many stone and wooden buildings that have withstood the winds and snow of the Sea of Japan and create a nostalgic townscape. From the street in front of the station, where a famous movie was filmed, starts a walking path where you can see and feel the historical buildings of a bygone era. It leads to the old Mashike Elementary School, a pre-war wooden school built in 1936, which is located on a small hill
