Rebun Island

The northernmost island in Japan, a floating island of flowers decorated with alpine plants.

With more than 300 species of alpine plants in bloom, trekking is the best way to enjoy the island of Rebun. The island is free of brown bears and snakes, so you can enjoy the island's nature while walking. There are seven trekking courses: a four-hour round trip to the summit of Mt. Rebunto (490 meters above sea level), a three-hour trek along the Rebun Forest Road where you can enjoy the flowers that bloom each season, and the longest trekking course that takes about eight hours to complete the 17-km course. For sightseeing by car, rent a car, take a sightseeing cab, or take a regular sightseeing bus (only in summer).
