Mt. Yotei

A mountain that represents Hokkaido and is called "Ezo Fuji" because of its majestic appearance.

1,898 meters high, and it is also called Ezo Fuji because of its resemblance to Mount Fuji, and is one of the most famous mountains in Japan. It is a stratovolcano with a 2km crater at its summit, and more than 100 species of alpine plants can be seen from July to August at elevations above 1,700m. There are four routes to the mountain, including one from the Yotei trailhead, and the ascent takes 5 to 6 hours. You can see the mountain up close from around Niseko Town, but the best views are from the "Niseko Town Miyata Viewpoint Parking" and "Niseko Town Kurokawa Area Yotei Viewpoint" along Route 5. On a clear day, you can see Mount Yotei, Niseko Annupuri and Mount Konbu over the farmland.
