Wakkanai City Northern Memorial Hall

The Wakkanai City Northern Memorial Hall and Centennial Memorial Tower was built in July 1978. The first and second floors of the building are occupied by the Northern Memorial Hall, where local materials about Wakkanai City and Sakhalin, exhibits, and materials about the Ainu people are displayed. The observatory is located 70 meters above the ground and 240 meters above sea level, where you can see the islands of Rishiri and Rebun, and even Sakhalin on a clear day.
