Cape Sukai, Todoshima Observatory

The contrast between the clear blue sea and the coastline surrounded by strange rocks is breathtaking.

If you want to admire the ocean on Rebun Island, head to Cape Sukai. From this cape in the northwest part of the island you can see the clear blue sea, so transparent that you can almost scoop out the ocean bed with your hand. The cape is surrounded by rugged rocky terrain that accentuates the beauty of the sea. Another recommended viewing spot is the Todoshima Observatory, located about 6 km from the cape. Below you can see the northernmost tip of the island, Cape Sukoton, and the uninhabited Todoshima Island floating in front of it. On a clear day you can even see Sakhalin.
