Toma Town Specialty Goods Store

Toma Town is located about 15km from Asahikawa, approximately 30 minutes by car. The Roadside Station Toma and Product Center Densukesan-no-Ie (Densuke's House) is located on the west side of Toma, along Route 39. The specialty is the Densuke watermelon, which also gives the nickname to the product center. Sold from the end of June to the end of August, it is characterized by its tough, black rind, crispy texture and refreshing sweetness. A cut of watermelon, priced around 300 yen, is a good way to quench your thirst. If you haven't tasted Densuke watermelon, you should definitely give it a try! Inside the station you will also find many cute Densukesan, a mascot character with a watermelon face and a twisted headband.
