Rausu Kunashiri Observation Deck

A scenic spot where you can see Mt. Rausu and Kunashiri Island throughout the four seasons

The observation tower is located 167 meters above sea level and overlooks the city of Rausu. Binoculars and TV telescopes are available, and from here you can see the Rausu fishing port, Mt. Rausu, the Shiretoko mountains, and Kunashiri Island. If you are lucky, you may even be able to spot whales or killer whales swimming in the Nemuro Strait. Depending on the season, you can see the silhouettes of fishing boats leaving port one after another, a view unique to Shiretoko Rausu. Inside the facility, there is an exhibition room about the Northern Territories and a video room.
