Okurayama Observatory

The view of the city of Sapporo from the top is spectacular!

From the top of this 307-meter-high mountain, which is reached by a two-seater chair lift, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Sapporo. You can also see the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, the Okurayama Schanze, which was the stage for the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, and feel the thrill of standing on top of a ski-jumping platform. The site still hosts international competitions such as the World Cup, as well as many domestic competitions. Be also sure to check out the Sapporo Olympic Museum, which chronicles the history of winter sports.
