Lake Akan

A famous spot for viewing autumn leaves that attracts as many as 10,000 visitors during the season.

The area around Lake Akan is a popular spot to experience the richness of nature in all four seasons. More than 10,000 visitors flock here every year during the autumn foliage season, which starts in early October. Among the many viewing points are the Takimibashi Bridge, located at the top of the waterfall at the origin of Akan River, where you can see splendid red maple leaves and yellow birch leaves, and Bokke Pier, where you can enjoy a view of Mt. Oakan.
