Lake Poroto

Lake Poroto, meaning "big swamp" in the Ainu language, is a small lake of about 4 km in circumference surrounded by a natural recreational forest. Equipped with a campground near the lake shore, it is a place where you can enjoy nature and activities in all four seasons, such as skunk cabbage viewing in the spring, cycling through the fresh greenery in the summer, autumn foliage viewing in the fall, and wakasagi (smelt) fishing in the winter.
