Lake Shumarinai

Japan's largest man-made lake blends in with the richness of nature. Enjoy the outdoors surrounded by the great nature.

Lake Shumarinai is the largest man-made lake in Japan. The complex topography resembling a rias coast and the 13 islands of different sizes floating in the lake harmonize beautifully to create a fantastic appearance. Along the shore, there are camping sites, log cabins, and rest houses. It is also a good idea to take a sightseeing boat and enjoy the unique scenery from the lake. At night, go to Lake House Shumarinai, which is open as a bar as well as a place to stay, and enjoy a romantic drink while gazing at the lake lit by the moon.
