Stand-Up Paddleboarding

As the name suggests, Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is an activity where you stand on a board and paddle forward on the water. Located at the foot of Mt. Yote, the Shiribetsu River is one of the clearest rivers in Japan. It offers two types of SUP tours: static water tours at the dam reservoir with stagnant water, and rapid river tours in areas where the river flows rapidly. In both cases, instructors will teach you everything you need to know—from basics such as riding, paddling, laying on the board to tricks like doing a top turn. Lessons will be in small groups for you to enjoy the tour in a private setting. Another popular SUP Tour can be found roughly an hour from Niseko by car, in the cobalt blue water of Lake Tōya. Don’t miss the opportunity to observe the grand view of the mountain created by volcanic activity from the lake.
