Kushiro Marsh Hosooka Observatory

This is a popular viewpoint located on the east side of Kushiro Marsh. From here, you can see the large meandering Kushiro River and the expanse of Kushiro Marsh, as well as the distant peaks of Mt. Oakan and Mt. Meakan. It is also a well-known spot to watch the sunset, and the romantic sight of the sun setting behind the Akan mountain range beyond the marshland is worth seeing. The Hosooka Visitors Lounge near the observatory offers soft-serve ice cream, so you can relax and take a break while enjoying the view of the marshland.
