Fukushi-kyosan Sapporo Odori Beer Garden

The Fukushi-kyosan Sapporo Odori Beer Garden, one of the main events of the Sapporo Summer Festival, is a big beer garden that opens in Odori Park in the center of Sapporo City for about a month. The venue stretches about one kilometer, covering more than five blocks, and a number of beer gardens will open to offer a total of about 13,000 seats. Each block will serve different beer and have their own theme, making it fun to go garden-hopping and try several brands. Here you can taste most of the major breweries of Japan, but also, there will be areas that specialize in beers from all over the world, including authentic German beer. Tasty food that goes well with beer and dishes made with Hokkaido's fresh produce will be served too. The park will turn into a beer and food paradise that you can enjoy in the middle of the city. Since it has more visitors in the evenings and at night, it is recommended that you visit during the daytime on weekdays when there is relatively more room for seating. Enjoying a glass of ice-cold beer under the blue sky is sure to be a special treat. Held at the park, the finale of the Sapporo Summer Festival is Hokkaido Bon Odori, an event featuring traditional Japanese folk dance that is a symbol of summer in Japan. Feel the lively atmoshere, and join in the locals dancing to the traditional live music!
