Hakodate Christmas Fantasy

Hakodate has long been a thriving international trading port with its unique and charming culture. From December 1 to 25, the Hakodate Bay area hosts a yearly Christmas celebration in front of the iconic Red Brick Warehouses in the Bay area with a massive Christmas tree on the barge. As the big icon of this event, the Christmas tree is breathtaking both day and at night. Every day at 18:00, fireworks will be launched in conjunction with the tree's illumination. You won't want to miss the wonderful moment when the bay area is drenched in light and the sight of illuminations and fireworks reflected on the waters of Hakodate Harbor. As the color of the tree lights changes throughout time, you'll be able to view all of the diverse looks the tree offers. Take in the varied views of the tree as you stroll around the neighborhood to see how it changes appearance depending on where you look. The finest view is from the Shichizai Bridge, which offers views of the Bay Area as well as the perfectly illuminated tree, which makes an excellent photo backdrop. The Premium Red Tree, which is colored in red for 15 minutes three times a day, and the night view from the top of Mount Hakodate are both worth witnessing! The city's Christmas lights reflected in the white snow add to the nighttime scene, creating a breathtaking sight.
