Rishiri Island

Rishiri and Rebun are designated as Sarobetsu National Park, an island with precious nature.

Rishiri Island, which is connected to Wakkanai Port by ferry, has Mount Rishiri rising in the center, and is dotted with sightseeing spots where you can enjoy lakes and seasonal flowers. There is a car rental store in front of the Oshidomari Port ferry terminal at the entrance to the island, so you can rent a car and drive around the island. It takes about half a day to go around the island by car, but there are more than 30 accommodations around the Oshidomari area, so it is recommended to stay overnight and explore the island at your leisure. There are also regular sightseeing buses and bicycle rentals that take you to local attractions, so make the most of them.
