The first Russian Orthodox cathedral in Japan was rebuilt in 1916. The contrast between the white walls and green roofs is beautiful, and forms an exotic cityscape with an exotic atmosphere. In addition to its exterior, it is also famous for its bells, which produce a beautiful sound. The sound of the bells echoes throughout the foothills of Mount Hakodate for three to five minutes at a time, including the all-night prayer at 5:00 p.m. every Saturday and the Sunday morning Eucharist.
