Sapporo Agricultural School No. 2 Farm
Hokkaido's oldest practical farm for livestock management, founded by Dr. Clark.
The Sapporo Agricultural School No. 2 Farm was established as a practical farm for livestock management, with barns and related facilities designed to resemble a dairy farm. The nine buildings on the site, including the Model Barn and the Corn Barn, the oldest Western-style agricultural buildings in Japan, are designated as national important cultural properties for their historical and academic value. The agricultural equipment stored in the facility is a valuable source of information on everything from Japan's oldest livestock-powered machinery to today's tractor agriculture.
