The beautiful view from the open-air bath. Makkari Onsen attracts onsen fans with its spectacular view of Mt. Yotei. The hot spring baths, where you can enjoy the water flowing from the source, are well received by both locals and visitors on leisure trips such as skiing. The warmth of the wood in the log cabin-style building has a 45-tatami-mat hall where you can relax after taking a bath. Every year in January, the annual "Slipper Table Tennis Tournament" is held, where players from all over Japan compete in a heated competition.
