Rebun Forest Road Course, Momoiwa Tenboudai Observatory Course

A popular trekking course with a view of alpine plants and Rishiri Fuji.

Trekking is recommended on the island of Rebun. The Rebun Forest Road Course is about 8.2km (about 3 hours). This route passes through a colony of Rebun edelweiss, which bloom with pretty white flowers from mid-June to early August every year, and a point with a spectacular view of Rishiri Fuji. Further south, on the Momoiwa Observatory Course, there is Momoiwa, a gigantic rock that looks like a peach. The surrounding alpine flora, such as Rebun lousewort, wild geranium, and Ezo-kanzo (daylily), is designated as a natural monument of Hokkaido.
