Cape Skotong

The northernmost cape in Japan. On a clear day, you can see as far as Sakhalin!

The cape is located at the northern tip of Rebun Island, and is commonly referred to as the "northernmost limit. The cape juts out into the sea so narrowly that when you stand at the tip of the cape, you feel almost 360 degrees surrounded by the sea. In front of the cape floats the uninhabited Todo Island, and on a clear day you can see Sakhalin in the distance beyond it. It is also the starting point of the "Cape Tour Course," a trek that takes you from Cape Sukoton to Cape Gorota and Cape Sukai.
