Wakkanai

Wakkanai was established as the northernmost roadside station in Japan. It is equipped with restrooms and information terminals, and provides traffic and tourist information in real time 24 hours a day. It also has a movie theater, shops selling Wakkanai's specialties, restaurants, JR Wakkanai Station, and a bus terminal, making it one of the few roadside stations in Japan to have all of these facilities in one place. There are many sightseeing spots in the vicinity, including the Wakkanai Port North Breakwater Dome, making it a convenient base for sightseeing.
