Otaru Triangle Market is an old-fashioned retail market that supports the food life of Otaru citizens. The city is dotted with famous markets that have appeared on TV and in magazines, but this one is the best in terms of accessibility, since it is located adjacent to JR Otaru Station and the Otaru Station parking lot. There are about 10 stores, and many of them sell fresh seafood caught in the nearby sea as well as salted dried fish. Most of the stores can also ship their seasonal products to other parts of Japan. The market also features seven restaurants, favored by locals as well as tourists, where you can taste the freshest seafood, including sea urchin and salmon roe rice bowls.
