Roadside Station Shikabe Kanketsusen Park

This is a roadside station with a geyser spring, a rare sight in Japan. The natural geysers, which blow up every 10 to 15 minutes, reach 15 meters in height! Relax and enjoy a blissful moment in the foot bath filled with hot spring water. This roadside station also features a corner where you can buy processed fishery products such as Shikabe tarako (cod roe), a special product of the area, the Hama no Kaasan Restaurant, where you can taste seasonal fish and cod roe landed in Shikabe, and the Onsen Steamer, where seasonal seafood is steamed using hot spring vapor. There are also a variety of hands-on programs such as the Hama no Kaasan Local Cooking Experience, where you can learn how to prepare fish.
