Marukoma Onsen Ryokan

An open-air bath with a rich view of the colors and charms of the four seasons.

Marukoma Onsen is a lakeside hot spring inn established in 1915. The open-air bath is popular for its spectacular view of Lake Shikotsu. The hot water that gushes out in abundance is colorless and clear, and the surface of the bath is the same height as the surface of the lake. All the baths are 100% free-flowing hot spring water, which is said to be good for stiff shoulders, back pain, and beautiful skin. Two private baths with open-air baths are also popular: Maru no Yu, a large round cauldron turned into a bathtub, and Koma no Yu, a square bathtub made of Japanese cypress.
