But before that, let us enjoy a walk through the Sarobetsu Marsh. Sarobetsu Marsh, one of the three significant marshlands in Japan, is registered under the Ramsar Convention and is recognized internationally. Here, you will be able to see alpine plants as you walk along the wooden pathway that stretches through the vast marsh. If you're lucky, you may even see some of Hokkaido's wild birds!
When you get to Wakkanai, you can visit Cape Soya, where the monument marking the northernmost tip of Japan stands! On a clear day, you can see Sakhalin in the distance. If you have the extra time to catch the bus, you'll also want to visit the exhilarating scenery of the Soya Hills, located just south to Cape Soya.

Next, we will visit Wakkanai Port North Breakwater Dome, an architectural masterpiece in the shape of a semi-circular arched shelter. The structure is made in a gothic style and is recognized as a photogenic sightseeing spot. After your day touring around the area, stay overnight in Wakkanai.

It stands out clearly against the blue sky and is called "Rishiri Fuji" for its stunning appearance.

With Rishiri Fuji always in the background, you will visit Himenuma and Oshidomari Pond, both the highlights of Rishiri sightseeing. Around noon, you will board the ferry again and head for the neighboring island of Rebun. You will have lunch near the ferry terminal at the Kafuka Port on Rebun Island. You will have time to take pictures like the movies at Kita-no Canary Park, a location with a view of Rishiri Fuji on the opposite shore.

To fully enjoy the beauty of this haven commonly praised as a “floating flowerbed,” you should skip the tour bus and go trekking around the island. After having lunch, take the ferry to Wakkanai Port. From there, you will make your way home by airplane.
