A 3-day trip departing from New Chitose Airport Arrive at New Chitose Airport and depart from Tokachi Obihiro Airport

This 3-day trip will bring you close to animals and nature. Upon arrival at New Chitose Airport, we will head for Northern Horse Park by riding the free shuttle bus. Once there, you can enjoy horse-riding or rides on horse-drawn carriages. The cute pony show is not to be missed. Don’t forget to have a garden lunch surrounded by flowers.

Then, we will head to Hoshino Resort Tomamu, our hotel for the night. At this resort located in a forest of conifers and hardwood trees, you will be spoilt for choice with interesting activities. Taste the local delicacies of Hokkaido here and have a relaxing night at the indoor pool or the bar.

Wake up early in the morning on Day 2 to catch a view of the sea of clouds from the terrace. From early summer through early autumn, a sea of clouds appears when certain weather conditions are met. Take the cable car to the top of the mountain and enjoy the view from various carefully designed observation spots. It’s alright even if sea of clouds doesn’t appear on that day, you can enjoy a cup of coffee and desserts while enjoying a spectacular view of the Hidaka Mountains. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, it’s time to do various activities in the resort farm area. For example, having lunch on a hammock while counting sheep in real life or enjoying a cup of tea on a sofa made of grass.

After an active morning, lunch will be at the roadside station. The afternoon is lined up with visits to popular spots in Hokkaido such as the Rokka Forest and Kofuku (“Happiness”) Station. At night, soak in the hot springs of Tokachigawa Onsen, a rare hot spring facility in a mall.

Day 3 will be equally active! In the morning, a walk in the first conifer garden in Japan, “Manabe Garden”. We will walk through a garden filled with thousands of plants and trees collected from countries around the world over the past 60 years. In this fairytale-like setting, you may even be able to spot some wild birds and squirrels.

After enjoying lunch near Obihiro Station, the next stop is the Ban’ei Tokachi Racecourse, the only one of its kind in the world. Witness the impressive horses go around the course while pulling iron sleds weighing up to 1 ton. You will surely be moved by the beauty of the horses. At the Tokachi Village within the racecourse, you can take a break with a snack and shop for local delicacies like fresh cheese and dairy products before departing for Obihiro Airport. That will be the end of this wonderful and activity-filled 3-day 2-night trip.
