These gem-like pieces of ice shine in the sun to show numerous colors, including red, orange, yellow, and blue, fascinating visitors with a globally rare, mesmerizing sight. If you visit during the Obihiro Ice Festival, Tokachi's famous winter event, you can also see ice structures and ice candles decorating the area.
For the afternoon, make a stop at the Ban’ei Racecourse to watch the Ban'ei Tokachi, the only horse race in the world that features sleighs. The horses running as they are pulling a sleigh that weighs about one ton make a dynamic scene that will without a doubt excite anyone watching.
